License template headers look like boilerplate

Most of the Java source files start with:

 * To change this license header, choose License Headers in Project Properties.
 * To change this template file, choose Tools | Templates
 * and open the template in the editor.
 */

As a reader, I don't understand what purpose these comments serve. Could you perhaps enlighten me?
