Describe the feature

Many media server administrators are mindful of their internet upload bandwidth and rely on bitrate statistics to understand server load, especially for remote users.

It would be valuable to have the ability to exclude specific users or local streams from bandwidth calculations, allowing for more accurate monitoring of external network usage.

The ability to ignore specific users (admin, test) is extremely valuable to avoid the noise in map, history, statistics and performance dashboards. I understand Tracearr was designed to have the full picture of a media server (as I've read in previous discussion about this topic) but I'd love this to be reconsidered as this "limitation" makes Tracearr less valuable for users like me who perform various playback tests from various locations on the production server. Also having this option allows for both usage to coexist.

This is something that is implemented in the default report function within Jellyfin and is often implemented in analytics tools.

I'm very sad the exclusion is no-go.

What you propose sounds like a good middle groud option and in my case I could, with little effort, have my remote tests appear as local for JF.
Would this type of implementation be IP based?

I don't know what implementation looks like yet. First would come feasibility testing, and then I will have a better idea. But this feature is low in demand so I can't promise anything anytime soon.
