Just a thought ... could be nice to set it up in a way that preprints (yet without an arXiv link) are posted and once the arXiv link becomes available it doesn't turn into a separate post, but a reply to the original one ... this way all the retweets and likes would/could be collected into one.

I don't know if this is better from the Twitter reach point of view or not. Do you know?
Technically, it should be possible, we would just need to save the initial tweet ID and then create a link between the CERN-EP-20XX-XXX tag and the arXiv:000.0000 one.
