Description

Some key options are missing in certain emulators. Notably, FBNeo is missing its 'cyclone' option which greatly improves its performance on many games. Also gpSP is missing deterministic save stave support, which makes it impossible to use run-ahead

Expected behavior

FBNeo and gpSP should be compiled with all options supported by the system.

Sorry to create this report rather than build the packages myself. Unfortunately the laptop I am currently limited to takes years to try and fail building the fbneo core. I do not have internet available on device to set up the dev environment (although I will try to do that manually on a fresh card for future use"

Cyclone builds only in a 32bit environment. The fbneo used here is 64bit. What is this deterministic save state support? The recipes I use to build both cores are linked below. Let me know what I'm missing for gpsp as far as flags for this deterministic support.

I see. I will try to build fbneo for 32bit on device and see how that goes.

Deterministic save states are required for the core to use "run-ahead" or "preemptive frames" to reduce latency. I guess it is more precise, such that rng does not change when loading. gpSP is supposed to have deterministic save state support, I'm not sure why we aren't getting it with your build script. I couldn't find any option that seemed suspect, I'll reach out to the devs and hopefully they can advise.

I turned on the option to ignore the core's claimed save state supported, and gpSP seems to work fine with preemptive frames. Not sure why it claims not to support this, as other builds I was able to find had "deterministic" save state support.

Predictably, I wasn't able to build FBNeo. I think I will pause this until I get a hold of a more capable machine.
