Enhancement: Give option to change time span of viewable logs after file is loaded

I am often given a log file with entries spanning 1 or more days. Often all I am concerned with the 'last X min' only.
I was thinking rather than making user (me) do the math for

why not add a drop down choice with options
"last 5min"
"last 30min"
"last day"
Alternatively, it would be cool if I click somewhere in the status bar where the boundaries are shown and let me drag the stat/end times

Think of a double sided drag bar where you can slide it along full timespan to focus in on a specific time window
Im thinking of something like this (but scaled to the log file in question obviously)
