Wildcards failure

This one works as expected…

$ f2 -r "{YYYY}{MM}{DD} {f}{ext}" --dt mtime -f ".*png$"
*———————————*————————————————————*————————*
| ORIGINAL  |      RENAMED       | STATUS |
*———————————*————————————————————*————————*
| hello.png | 20251207 hello.png | ok     |
*———————————*————————————————————*————————*
dry run: commit the above changes with the -x/--exec flag

…but that one does not (albeit wildcards are mentioned in the docs).

$ f2 -r "{YYYY}{MM}{DD} {f}{ext}" --dt mtime *.png
CreateFile *.png: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.

@sergeevabc Apparently, this doesn't work because wildcards aren't expanded for external programs in PowerShell. You may need to use a different shell (e.g via WSL).

I have no access to WSL in Windows 7, I have cmd.exe and powershell.exe out of the box. And, in general, re-thinking wildcards as something available only to niche shells is not an exciting idea. It was invented as an easy-to-understand syntax for bulk file processing across different OSes and shells. A proper implementation of wildcards in Go-based console app is possible, check this one.
