Two-finger click doesn't open context menu when thumb is resting on a trackpad

• I couldn't find this bug described in a dedicated issue.
• The bug persists in the latest release of MiddleClick.
• I use a ProMotion-enabled (120Hz) display (built-in or external).
• I use the app with a trackpad.
• I use the app with a Magic Mouse.

Describe the bug
Two-finger click doesn't open context menu when thumb is resting on a trackpad.
This is not an issue when MiddleClick is closed.
This is not an issue with Middle (middleclick.app).

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Rest your thumb on the bottom of the trackpad
2. Use index finger no move the cursor
3. Put down middle finger next to index finger and click
4. Context menu is not shown

Expected behavior
Context menu is showing on two-finger click.

• macOS version: 15.7.4
• MiddleClick version: 3.2.0
