We've just finished our own process for releasing of the lib. A while ago, I had a look at https://github.com/semantic-release/semantic-release and it seemed to complicated. Maybe it has some advantages. If there's enough time and some of us wants to take a deeper look, this person could then tell us if it's really worth it.
