MongoShake compatibility with Go mongo driver 2.x+

Hi team,

I'm using MongoShake in my team with MongoDB server version 7.0.31. We're upgrading Go mongo driver version to 2.x+ as version 1.x are deprecated and will no longer receive security patches, bug fixes, or feature updates after 31 January 2026. I see that currently MongoShake is using mongo driver 1.9.0.

Could you tell me what 2.x version of Go mongo driver should I use for MongoShake? And any action/consideration on upgrading the mongo driver version?

according to the manual:

I think v2.1 would be a good choice.

We will also assess when to upgrade the Go driver in mongoShake, or maintain two development branches with different driver versions if necessary. Considering that some developers using very early versions of MongoDB(like v3.0/v3.2) may use MongoShake, we are not so aggressive in our approach to upgrading the driver version for whole project.

Thanks for your suggestion. I also notice that mongo-driver v2.1.0 will require go1.18+, currently we're running go1.15. Do you have any suggestion or consideration for this go version upgrade?

MongoShake is using go1.21 now. This is for reference only. Please consider the target version for your upgrade based on your actual application situation.
