Hello,

first of all, thank you for your work on XBSX2. I really appreciate the effort that goes into making PS2 emulation available on Xbox.

I wanted to ask if there are any plans or if it would technically be possible to add support for the Buzz! controllers in the future. On PC, PCSX2 allows using Buzz controllers (or emulating them), which makes it possible to play games like the Buzz! quiz series as intended.

Since these games rely heavily on the Buzz controllers, it would be amazing if something similar could be supported in XBSX2 as well.

Is this something that might be considered in the future, or are there technical limitations on Xbox that would prevent this?

Thank you again for your great work!

Reason

The Buzz! games are designed specifically around the Buzz controllers and are difficult or not very enjoyable to play with normal controllers. Support for Buzz controllers (or an emulation of them) would allow players to experience these games as intended.

Since PCSX2 already supports Buzz controllers on PC, adding similar support in XBSX2 would make it possible to play the Buzz! quiz games on Xbox as well, especially in local multiplayer situations where these games are most fun.

It would greatly improve compatibility and allow a unique set of PS2 party games to be played properly on the platform.

Examples

PCSX2 supports Buzz! controllers on PC, allowing the original USB Buzz controllers to be used directly. It is also possible to emulate Buzz controllers through controller mapping, enabling players to play the Buzz! quiz games as intended.

Because of this support, games from the Buzz! series (such as Buzz!: The Mega Quiz, Buzz!: The Music Quiz, etc.) can be played in local multiplayer with multiple Buzz controllers connected.

A similar implementation in XBSX2—either through native USB support or controller emulation/mapping—would allow the same experience on Xbox.
