Feature request: New shape "helix" or deformed torus

This might be considered either a new shape or a deformation of a torus:

spiral/coil deformation:

• total height that can also control width between "coil" segments
• radius of inner and outer coil widths to create spiral shape

chain deformation:

• second inner radius to make a "chain link" shape
• second outer radius to control overall flatness of the torus

Ok this one is very cool but I have no idea how would I even "math" this out.
