Question About Upscaling the Follower Arm #154

I am very interested in following this project because it just looks really cool. I am somewhat new to engineering and robotics related projects, but I've taken plenty of classes on it. We've never actually made anything fun so I don't have any hands on experience. My question is, what is the process for upscaling the follower arm to about 1.5x to 2.0x the current size?

I want to make a larger version for my workspace/apartment/room and want to make temporary installment locations around the area if it needs to be relocated or if I want it somewhere else, but that's not important. I know it would have a larger weight/length and therefore need more torque output, so I plan to use cycloidal drive gears, or something similar to this to make it for at a larger size. Again, I don't want/need a giant industrial thing, but making it 1.5x or 2.0x larger would be perfect. I assume I need larger motors in addition to the cycloidal drive, mainly for speed reasons, but I was wondering if the code provided for the servos would translate well over to a more appropriate motor, and how difficult it would be to fix calibrations for weight and size. If I don't need larger motors and using the servos with a cycloidal drive would work fine, then that's great news, but I don't know what exactly I would need to do to accomplish this. I am hoping it's a relatively easy process, but then again, when is anything easy or simple.

I assume this is a common project that people who are new to robotics would pursue, but it seems fun and I'm interested. I have taken plenty of classes on this kind of thing, but we never actually made anything or got to learn the practical skills to do anything fun (ie. coding, soldering, electrical components ECT). I have taken a Python class but it didn't really teach my anything besides the basics.

Again, I don't have much experience actually making something interesting, so if there are any other projects or a better/different way to do this, then a recommendation would obviously be appreciated. I am really pulled towards the leader/follower arms and this is the only one I've seen with them both.
