Local / LAN multiplayer mode

Would be great to have a local lan mode to play multiplayer/versus matches.

Hi! Thanks for opening the issue :)

Multiplayer (of any sort) has been in consideration for a while, as people occasionally mention it as something they'd like to see. Just today I left the following comment (on a different platform):

[...] Once I finish up current improvements I may tackle more multiplayer implementation details - In addition to engine/gamemode and netcode complexity, community matchmaking would be a Big milestone so I'll have to see about that too! [...]

Of course, developing that would also include thinking about / supporting local forms of multiplayer (likely even more realistic than aforementioned online experience)
