Note that v3.14.0 includes several dependency pins, which we aim to remove in the near future, followed by a patch release:

• Remove Python<3.14 pin #6775
• Remove dask<2025.10.0 pin #6776
• Remove netCDF4<1.7.3 pin #6777

@stephenworsley I'm planning to merge this into v3.14.x once the first release is out tomorrow. Unless you'd prefer something different.

3.14.0 is now released and available on PyPi and conda forge.

To get the CI passing on v3.14.x, we had to make some changes which will conflict when it comes to do the next merge-back - after we release v3.14.1. So a deviation from the standard procedure ¹:

git fetch upstream;
git checkout upstream/v3.14.x -b v3.14.1.conflicts;
git revert 4f6bb8bbc;
# ACCEPT THE STANDARD MESSAGE
git checkout upstream/main -b v3.14.1.mergeback;
git merge v3.14.1.conflicts --no-ff -m "Merge branch 'v3.14.x' into mergeback-test";
