Feature Request: order of assignments on the course homepage and list of assignments.

On both the Course Home and the list of Assignments, it seems that assignments are listed by latest due date first. I think it makes more sense to have the assignments that are due soonest appear first and in the order that they are upcoming. (For past due assignments I'm more agnostic. I think it would likely be better to have the opposite ordering as what's there now, most newly past due at the bottom to make them easier to find instead of somewhere in the middle. I could be convinced otherwise though.)

There are 50 or so assignments in AC, so even if I gradually make them visible, they are not appearing in a logical order for students to see what needs to be done. In any 1 week there are usually at least 4 assignments, and they are appearing in reverse order of how students should do them.

I think I like this better, it puts the overdue dates in red and keeps the most recently past due near the top so they will be easy to find without scrolling.

I want to look at options for formatting the date/time too, no reason to display due date down to the microsecond.

That looks much better! I agree about the date formatting as well.

The one thing that concerns me about the red is that that could be alarming when students have already completed the work, or even if they haven't but their instructor doesn't accept late work anyway.

Red is a very commonly used color to indicate that a date is in the past or that something is now overdue.
