App breaks Wi-Fi Hotspot routing

First of all, thanks for this very nice app <3

Anybody here tried having Quad9 Connect installed, and tried using the Wi-Fi Hotspot? Basically the Hotspot seems to do not work if the app is installed.

Steps to reproduce

• From Android:
  • Have Quad9 Connect installed (stopped)
  • Create a Wi-Fi Hotspot "Android Hotspot"
• From another device (e.g. computer):
  • Connect to "Android Hotspot"
  • Cannot connect - traceroute 1.1.1.1 shows just 1 hop (your phone)

What should happen instead

The other device should navigate normally, as usual. Like when the app is uninstalled.

What I Tried

Just stopping the Quad9 service (using the usual button) is not enough to fix.

Workaround

Uninstalling the Quad9 Connect app fixes my Hotspot routing issue.

I have tried looking into this, but I haven't been able to reproduce it. I use hotspot quite often and I haven't had issues with it.

Phone has no connection issues during that time? I might need to test it out with other devices / Android versions - I use stock Android though (16), not LineageOS, so maybe there is a combination that makes it break.

Uhm good to know. Then I should close this as "cannot reproduce" (?).

Maybe it's an issue in my LineageOS.

I am still not sure if it is only reproducible on your end. I haven't tested other combinations yet.
