Regarding the
info/wii_import.mdtutorial and limitations of the shareware version, you can use the freeware, read-only version called "WhereIsIt Lite", based on version 3.95, which was available from the official website before they took most of it down.AFAICT the program does not try to write back into the opened .CTF files (it does not modify anything).
https://web.archive.org/web/*/https://www.whereisit-soft.com/ then navigate to an older version of the downloads page (2022 or 2023?).
SHA256sum is
ebb9716c31cef4355f189f3ad8506c35ce7a1aa2ff07d173152b3795d673ee47 *wiilite.zipTip
I also found a mirror copy through Cnet download which also matches this digest hash. You can find it using this query
"WhereIsIt Lite" cnet download(no spaces in product name)Make sure to pick the manual download from CNET's internal mirror and that you obtain a zip file matching the checksum mentioned above and not some dodgy shovelware installer in EXE form.
I checked against an ooooold unzipped copy lying on my HDD (circa 2011) and I can assert ZIP contents perfectly match. With the sole exception being sample.ctf, which I manually deleted.
