There seems no activity and the Cubieboard it was based on seems to have disappeared.
Also many links on the website no longer work..

True but if I am going to invest time into this as a potential project to follow it seems useful to know if it is still live or if I am wasting my time..

Cubieboards are still available at Aliexpress, more than 10 years after the initial OV design. Most people build form Stefly Kits, so you may check there.

It should however also be noted that Stefan is now offering an Android-based OV-like navigation system (along with two other sellers that I’m aware of).
