Trying to run ConjureSchool tutorial without installing but getting an error

When I invoke: curl -fL conjure.oli.me.uk/school | sh

I'm getting:

I just tried running curl -fL conjure.oli.me.uk/school | sh and it worked for me using Neovim 0.10.4 and 0.11.3.

From the output you've reported, it looks like the archive of Conjure that was downloaded is not quite right.

What computer and operating system are you using?
What version of Neovim are you using?

Can you try running that command again?

If you're curious and/or adventuresome, you can split up the command into two parts:

• curl -fL conjure.oli.me.uk/school > school.sh
• sh school.sh

The first part downloads a script that will download an archive of the Conjure repo, expand it, run Conjure School in Neovim, and remove the expanded Conjure repo when done.
The second part will run that script and put into the Conjure School tutorial within Neovim.
When you're done, rm cs.sh.

This is on MacOS: Sequoia 15.3.2

I tried both the original command and splitting it up. And I get the same error.

I actually wound up installing the conjure plugin in LazyVim and I'm able to run :ConjureSchool successfully. However, once I remove the plugin, I can reproduce the error.

It's good that you can run :ConjureSchool after installing the Conjure plugin.

Maybe your Neovim config might not be playing well with the temporary Conjure set-up.

If you're still adventuresome, can you try splitting things up again but edit the script before running it?
Add --clean to the nvim command in the script.

 nvim \
   --clean \  <<-- Add this line.
   --cmd "set rtp+=$PREFIX/conjure-main" \
...

This will make sure that the Conjure School tutorial is being run in Neovim with just the Conjure plugin.

Yes! The clean option worked... so does that mean my config is not playing nice?

No, your config is probably good. I would not worry too much about it because when you included the Conjure plugin in you config you were able to run the tutorial.

I'll submit a PR for this issue because the goal of the script is to let people get a feel for the interactive development experience with Conjure without having to install the Conjure plugin. In other words, people can check things out without having to change their config. Nothing special should be needed to walk through the Conjure School tutorial.
