Learn about ONTAP Capacity reporting and measurements

Summary

Hello,

Both externally and internally the definitions are confusing and this is the page that should be crystal clear to all parties. However, it is not. Product teams should also update their terms to be consistent which will help simplify this page.

Top of the page logical says that it is before efficiencies. Further down the page logical used states that it includes efficiencies. However, top of the page says that physical used is capacity with efficiencies.

Allocated and provisioned are also basically the same definitions but two terms.

In the definitions it also states used capacity but physical used and logical used are defined earlier in the article so what is the purpose of stating just "used".

Please let me know if you would like to discuss further but this causes confusion every day.
