Failed to rebuild php8.2: unable to run configure script

Just tested the new imap and imagick extensions. imagick worked like a charm, but having issues with imap. I'm running the latest version of Omarchy.

I've updated to the latest version of yerd 1.1.7:

nexus staging ❯ yerd -v
yerd version 1.1.7

When I add the extension imap, it informs me to run yay -S c-client which already exists on my PC:

…/Work/ ❯ yay -S c-client

Which I ran anyway just to make sure.

Then I run sudo yerd php 8.2 rebuild and I get this error:

✗ Unable to run configure script
Failed to rebuild php8.2: unable to run configure script

Hello @fitzzz

I've just noticed that the imap extensions is only compatible with PHP 8.4 using the Arch c-client build. Unfortunately, in order to use imap on PHP versions lower than 8.4, you will need to manually build and enable the imap extension via PECL

Hi @RichardAnderson thanks for the quick response. No problem. Would you mind giving me a little bit of direction on how I could do that? I'll do my best to figure it out. Thanks so much.

It looks like you will need to build an older version of imap and pass the directory into the configure flags when making PHP. Unfortunatly thats not supported via YERD at this time, but I'll add it to list of features for v2 which I'm hoping to release in a couple weeks time!
