FT Contributions - understanding self-activity contribution

Hello,
I'm using the FT Contribution analysis feature of AB and having trouble interpretating my results.

In my FT contribution analysis results, I see a contribution entry with the same name as my reference activity itself (see screenshots below).

I understand that FT contribution analysis performs LCA calculations on the first level of the LCI. Given that my activity has no direct biosphere flows, I'm confused about what is this contribution named by my activity.

Hi Maxime,

If your ethanol production process does indeed not have any EFs (which it looks like here), this is absolutely not supposed to happen and something must be going wrong.

Could you please export the database with this process and share it here (top left file > export database > choose biofuels and choose an export folder where you can find the file back)? If the biosphere database depends on any other databases, I will need those too. I have access to ecoinvent (and the biosphere), so no need to share those.
Then I will be able to better investigate the issue and resolve it.

I renamed this activitiy "Ethanol production, via fermentation, from forest residue, energy allocation_no_EF" since I was doing some tests.

No, my biosphere doesn't have any dependencies.

Hi,

It seems I am unable to import your database. Could you instead share with me the entire project? (top left Project > Export this project > export to somewhere easy to find).

In this case you will need to email me since it contains ecoinvent, which you should not share publicly. You probably need to upload the file somewhere as it will be too large as attachment. Please email me here (send to Marc only).
