## Assimilation Procedure
1. Read `README.md` for archive scope, provenance and terminology.
2. Read `machine_index/index.json` and `machine_index/semantic/index.json`.
3. Resolve project terminology through `normalization.json`, `ontology-mappings.json`, and `kfield-vocabulary.jsonld` before interpreting names literally.
4. Use category/keyword/taxonomy routing to identify candidate records.
5. Resolve exact artifacts through `artifact-locator.json`; read only the relevant shard and primary source artifacts.
6. Use `.abstract.json` companions for discovery of oversized artifacts, then use the source artifact for authoritative detail whenever possible.
7. Do not count paired PDF/JSON/abstract representations as independent experiments solely because they are separate files.
8. Preserve exact units, coordinate frames, epochs, detector orientations, experimental configurations and processing parameters.
9. Treat geographic coverage separately from celestial/reference-frame variables. ICRS, RA/Dec, sidereal phase, observer trajectories and barycentric/CMB coordinates are not geographic `spatialCoverage`.
10. When synthesizing, distinguish source observation, computed result, inferred structure and later interpretation, and cite exact repository paths.
