Wrong error renaming file - open in another process #14771

@HarryEClarke

Description

@HarryEClarke

JabRef version

5.15 (latest release)

Operating system

Windows

Details on version and operating system

Windows 11 Pro

Checked with the latest development build (copy version output from About dialog)

  • I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
  • I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists

Steps to reproduce the behaviour

  1. Create entry with a long title
  2. Add file to entry
  3. Rename file to defined pattern
  4. JabRef reports - "JabRef cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."
  5. The error message is incorrect because the file can be renamed using Windows Explorer, or via JabRef using "Rename to a given name"
    The biblatex source is provided in the Appendix.
    The defined pattern is:
    - <title>
    If the defined pattern is too long, I would expect JabRef to truncate the title so that file can be opened bu another program such as Acrobat Reader (length to truncate is operating system dependent)
