Description
JabRef version
5.15 (latest release)
Operating system
Windows
Details on version and operating system
Windows 11 Pro
Checked with the latest development build (copy version output from About dialog)
- I made a backup of my libraries before testing the latest development version.
- I have tested the latest development version and the problem persists
Steps to reproduce the behaviour
- Create entry with a long title
- Add file to entry
- Rename file to defined pattern
- JabRef reports - "JabRef cannot access the file because it is being used by another process."
- The error message is incorrect because the file can be renamed using Windows Explorer, or via JabRef using "Rename to a given name"
The biblatex source is provided in the Appendix.
The defined pattern is:
- <title>
If the defined pattern is too long, I would expect JabRef to truncate the title so that file can be opened bu another program such as Acrobat Reader (length to truncate is operating system dependent)
