Ability to mark an application's sound as primary or important and have volumes respond accordingly

The problem I am trying to solve is something that has already been solved in other places, like your car when have music playing along with verbal navigation. When a turn is coming up, your nav system/app will lower the volume (or even mute) everything else so you can clearly hear the directions. For me, I am looking to mute/lower all other applications (spotify, youtube, ...) when there is any audio input from the thinkorswim (trading/investing) application which provides breaking real-time news/alerts.

I have forked the repo to see if it is something that I can get working myself; I imagine not many others would have this on the top of their feature list. I also see there is some extensibility points I might be able to use for a plugin/add-on. Any help/guidance on this would be appreciated!

Great work on this feature, easy to understand and set things up! It is working as expected, and I can definitely use it in other places.

I will need to figure out something else for my specific problem. It looks like thinkorswim starts a device session as soon as I enable listening mode (even though there is no sound), so every other app stays muted all the time.
