Instrument list order

Currently, the instrument list page has no default sort order. As a result, instruments appear based on the instrument list csv order (e.g., guitar appears first, piano appears 845th). Should instruments with more diverse labels be ranked higher?

I was thinking that alphabetical might be more intuitive as a default sort order, but I wonder if users should be allowed to choose their own sorting method from a drop-down menu of options?

On a somewhat related note, should there be a default order for list of names in different languages on a given instrument page? It looks to be mostly alphabetical (with exceptions) on Wikidata, but labels imported from there don't seem to necessarily preserve that and often appear in a random-looking order on UMIL, which feels a bit jarring to me.
