Description
Hi. Thanks for your hard work on this great tool. I've had this problem for almost a year, on every version I've tried since 0.27.2, with the same results. I thought if I waited it might get fixed, but nobody else seems to be complaining about this specific problem. So I'm submitting an issue.
PROBLEM:
When I try to start mocap, 99% of the time it will get stuck on "finding camera" or the webcam light turns on but after a while it says "Camera Inaccessible". I've tried multiple webcams, same problem. It sometimes works once after a reboot (I think). Sometimes randomly without.
TESTING:
I unpack into a new folder when I use a new version of XR Animator, to make sure it's using the new files. I tried deleting AppData/Roaming/System Animator (Electron) and resetting settings (including deleting TEMP/_config_local), many, many times. It didn't solve the problem.
I checked DevTools Console Tab and the only red text said camera inaccessible and pointed to js\SA_system_emulation.min.js, so I tried replacing 0.32.0's js folder files with 0.27.2's (since 0.27.2 works every time) but it didn't solve the problem.
WORKAROUND
Moved 0.27.2's "XR Animator - electron-v31.0.1-win32-x64_SA" folder into the 0.32.0 folder and run that electron.exe instead of the one in "XR Animator - electron-v33.2.0-win32-x64_SA". Now it should work every time.
Edit:
Sometimes it says "no camera detected". Deleting the "AppData/Roaming/System Animator (Electron)" folder resolves this.
Edit2:
Same problem with 0.33.0
Edit3:
Same problem with 0.33.2
Edit4:
Same problem with 0.33.3
Edit5:
Using the Electron version included in 0.33.3 I tried to use OBS Virtual Camera as a workaround to skip the camera bug, and I thought it was working, but now it's back to being stuck on Detecting Camera again. So I still need to use old Electron just to be able to select other cameras.
