Brokk Town is an open, AI-friendly project. We welcome people using AI tools to understand the codebase, develop changes, review code, write documentation, and report problems.
Whether work is created by a person, an AI system, or a combination of both, we expect everyone participating in the project to be respectful, constructive, and accountable for what they submit.
Maintainers use AI throughout Brokk Town's development, including for implementation, static analysis, code review, testing, documentation, issue triage, and drafting issues and pull requests.
Participants should expect that some project content may be substantially AI-written. Our normal practice is to audit AI-drafted reviews, issue interactions, and other participant-facing messages before publishing them. This is a practice rather than a guarantee: automated systems may file bug reports or other mechanical findings without prior human review.
Feature direction and larger design decisions are ordinarily planned and approved by people through a collaborative process, even when AI assists with research, drafting, or implementation.
Routine AI assistance does not need to be disclosed unless it is material to understanding or evaluating a contribution. Fully automated participation should identify itself as automated.
Everyone remains responsible for activity submitted through their account. Using AI does not remove responsibility for accuracy, relevance, licensing, attribution, confidentiality, or correcting mistakes. AI-generated volume must not be used to overwhelm discussions, reviews, or maintainers.
We expect participants to:
- Treat other people with respect and patience.
- Give technical feedback constructively and support claims with evidence.
- Make room for questions, disagreement, and different levels of experience.
- Correct mistakes openly and promptly.
- Respect privacy, security boundaries, licenses, and third-party work.
- Keep issues, reviews, and discussions relevant and useful.
The following behavior is not acceptable:
- Harassment, threats, discrimination, or sustained personal attacks.
- Insults, intimidation, deliberately hostile conduct, or unwanted attention.
- Publishing another person's private information without permission.
- Impersonation, deceptive attribution, spam, or coordinated disruption.
- Fabricating test results, reproductions, review findings, or other evidence.
- Knowingly submitting malicious code, secrets, private source code, or material that the contributor does not have the right to share.
- Using people, bots, or AI systems to evade moderation or flood project channels.
We work to keep Brokk Town on the right side of security, privacy, licensing, and responsible disclosure. Good-faith reports that we have made a mistake are welcome.
Do not disclose suspected vulnerabilities publicly. Report them privately to feedback@brokk.ai.
Remove secrets, personal information, and private source code from public bug reports and reproductions. Contributors must have the right to submit their work and must preserve required license notices and attribution.
This Code of Conduct applies to the repository, issue tracker, pull requests, reviews, project documentation, and official Brokk Town community spaces. It also applies when someone is representing the project in public.
For abusive or disruptive GitHub content, use GitHub's Report to repository admins action on the relevant content. For conduct in another official community space, use that space's reporting tools or contact its moderators.

Maintainers will review reports in good faith and protect reporters' privacy as far as reasonably possible. Depending on the circumstances, maintainers may edit or remove content, reject contributions, lock conversations, restrict participation, or ban participants. Retaliation against someone making a good-faith report is not acceptable.
