how to add that lib to arduino IDE ? for ESP32

We have created an Arduino port that can be used with the Arduino Zero and Arduino Leonardo. Please look in the Arduino branch.

Pay special attention to the Arduino README.md about copying files into the sketch to add the library as C source code.

I don't have access to an ESP32-based Arduino like the Nano ESP32.

There is a folder in the arduino-dev branch examples\arduino_library. The libbuild.py script in there will build an Arduino library that can be copied to the "\Arduino\libraries" directory to add an EVE library to the Arduino IDE. There's one example project included with the library to demonstrate it working.

Work is ongoing to add support for EVE-MCU-Dev to the Arduino library repository.

The Arduino IDE Library Manager now has a "Bridgetek_EVE5" library supporting the BT820 device. Other generations of EVE will be uploaded to the Library Manager soon.

i would like to be able to use those screen on my ESP32/arduino

i think they have FT800 controller i have some of those screen

but the most important would be able to make it work on a ESP32 - S3 devices those are soo common and cost like 15 bucks on amazon

right now i have AUTOSPORTS LABS ESP32 CAN X2 board but its an ESP32-S3 series anyway

The library repository for EVE1 (EVE API version 1 for FT800 and FT801) is uploaded to the Arduino IDE library manager at https://github.com/arduino/library-registry/blob/main/repositories.txt

It can take a day to appear in the Arduino IDE Library Manager so it is also available to download from https://github.com/Bridgetek/EVE1-Arduino-Dev

I have it running with an Arduino Zero (with a Cortex M0) as well as a Leonardo so it might work. If not please let me know what needs changed? There may be pin differences but we are going through the standard libraries for SPI and GPIO here.

You have a different set of libraries to me - you've got esp32 hardware libraries. I've got samd hardware libraries (for the Arduino Zero):

C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Arduino15\packages\arduino\hardware\samd\1.8.14\libraries\SPI

That's OK, the Arduino environment chooses the correct library code depending on the hardware you have.

Looking at the SPI.h files in both libraries the ESP32 one does not include Arduino.h by default. I think that in the EVE library I may need to add this include specifically before the SPI header is included.

Can you help check that for me please? I do not have an ESP32 Arduino.

This line has been added in the libraries for Arduino from the #27 PR merge.

The https://github.com/Bridgetek/EVE1-Arduino-Dev library is now updated within the Arduino IDE. To force a reload of new versions of the Arduino libraries in the Arduino IDE press Ctrl + Shift + P then choose "Arduino: Update Library Index". You can then update the EVE libraries to "v1.1.0". That should fix the issue with the missing include file.
