Enhancement: Vertically align the top menu

When adding an icon to the top, which is quite tall, the menu gets pushed to the top. It would look a lot better centrally aligned.

I'll see if there's a clean way to do this via CSS. Sometimes this can require the use of absolute positioning, which I'd like to avoid.

@donini if you have a clean CSS fix for this, that would work for a variable height header, I'd like to see it!
