Description
According to the tutorials on GitHub Wiki and YouTube, I used finalize_hrtf_simulation.py to merge the left and right ear data and generated the final HRIR file HRIR_ARI_48000.sofa. However, when using this file, I found that the 7.1 channel audio rendering has obvious directional errors—whether it's Front Right or Right, the sound almost entirely comes from the left side.
I examined the plot data generated during the final merging process (HRIR_ARI_48000_2D.pdf) and found significant anomalies:
The plot data in HRIR_Default_48000_2D.pdf looks even stranger:
From the plot analysis, even for sounds coming from the right side, the left ear's audio level is higher.
I suspect the problem may lie in the following aspects:
- Issues with the initial model creation, or errors in some Blender settings before export (I mainly followed the YouTube video tutorials)
- Incorrect settings when exporting the Mesh2HRTF project from Blender (according to the GitHub Wiki, I tried manual export)
- Errors when running
finalize_hrtf_simulation.py(I placed the left and right ear folders next to the script and ran it directly)
I am using the latest versions of Any2HRTF/Mesh2HRTF (v1.3.0) from GitHub and mesh2hrtf-tools (ca77ef) from SourceForge. I am using Blender 5.1. And I have attached my Blender project, simulation results, and merged results to this post. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could provide assistance.
